Well now I have a Joyo Dcurl applet to go with my henshall kanji applet - and both are just icons on my desktop.
What is better - both are storing their state using client-side persistent data (CSPD.)
It's great !
Two lessons learned:
1) don't try to commit the CSPD repository in the WindowClose handler of the view
2) ignore the result of {request-local-data-permission} if you have no license - you will have CSPD just not UNLIMITED data.
That is fine for my kanji review applets.
